Join Christina Daniels, Head of Residencies and Classes at Pioneer Works, and Erin K. Murphy, Director of Residencies and Exhibitions at Artpace San Antonio, for a conversation about the effects of COVID-19 on residencies, as well as alternative models and the future of residency programs. Participants should come prepared with questions and ready to engage in dialogue.

Christina Daniels is the Head of Residencies and Classes at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to Pioneer Works, Christina worked at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Kasmin Gallery, Culture Corps, and Black Frame in marketing and PR. She has a BA in Art History from the University of Michigan and a MA in Arts Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University.
Erin K. Murphy, Director of Residencies & Exhibitions, has been with Artpace since February 2019. She recently organized Visibilities: Intrepid Women of Artpace, an exhibition featuring the work of Mona Hatoum, Autumn Knight, Wangechi Mutu, Martha Wilson, and other talented female artists. Prior to Artpace, she was at the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) where she managed more than 35 temporary exhibitions and installations, as well as serving as the lead editor on associated publications. At SAMA, she co-curated Intercambios: Modernist Photography in Mexico from the Permanent Collection and Of Country and Culture: The Lam Collection of Contemporary Australian Aboriginal Art and in 2018 she organized the general exhibition of the Vignette Art Fair in Dallas, TX. Preceding her tenure at the San Antonio Museum of Art, she served at various contemporary art galleries and art institutions including Art League Houston, the Dallas Museum of Art, McClain Gallery, and others. She earned an English degree from Texas A&M University (B.A.) and an art history degree from the University of North Texas (M.A.).
