Membership INFORMATION

Since 2008, POWArts has helped female-identifying and non-binary individuals learn, connect, and advance their careers. Our diverse community of industry professionals includes profit and non-profit arts workers in all stages of their careers. Our members possess a broad range of expertise, including but not limited to sales & marketing, communications & social media, non-profit management, business development, fundraising, exhibition curation, and more.

We welcome you to apply if you are currently employed or pursuing a career path in one or more of the following profit or non-profit organizations, including:

  • museum

  • auction house

  • gallery

  • art law firms

  • art business consulting

  • collection and estate management

  • art historical academia/education (other than fine art/studio education)

  • arts administration

  • private art advisory/art dealing

  • appraisals

  • art finance 

  • art management

  • private and government grantmaking organizations

Refunds and Credits: Please note that all programs and membership fees are non-refundable or transferable. All categories, benefits, and prices are subject to change. Membership benefits may not be refunded, resold, exchanged, or transferred. If you have made a program or membership transaction in error upon request, we can convert the amount to a fully tax-deductible donation.

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

Student Membership: $65 / year

Full-time students at an accredited higher educational institution, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in art history, arts administration, curatorial studies, or working as an intern in an arts business / nonprofit organization with the intent to pursue a full-time career in the arts and cultural field.

Benefits include:

  • Access to the network of esteemed professionals 

  • Invitations to intimate Members-only events

  • Discounted rates to POWarts programs and special events, which provide opportunities for critical discussion, professional development, and community-building

  • Limited access on a “first come, first served” basis to complimentary VIP tickets and Single Day Passes to select global art fairs

  • Reciprocal benefits with Association of Women Art Dealers (joining fee waived for POWarts Members), Art Mamas Alliance (10% off annual membership dues), Appraisers Association of America (Discounted $80 Friend membership plan)

Professional Membership: $95 / year

Early and mid-career professionals employed or seeking full-time employment, including self-employment and freelance work.

Benefits include:

  • Access to a wide network of high-profile, like-minded professionals at various stages in their careers across the art world 

  • Invitations to intimate Members-only events

  • Discounted rates to POWarts programs and special events, which provide opportunities for critical discussion, professional development, and community-building 

  • Limited access on a “first come, first served” basis to complimentary tickets to a selection of art fairs

EXECUTIVE Membership: $250 / year

Senior-level industry professionals, business owners, and executives with 10+ years of tenure in the field.

Benefits include:

  • Invitations to intimate Members-only events

  • Discounted rates to POWarts programs and special events, which provide opportunities for critical discussion, professional development, and community-building

Retired/Transition/In Need Members:

Retirees who are no longer active in the art industry, temporarily unemployed art professionals, or those who are transitioning into the field may apply for a discounted membership rate. Please email us at info@powarts.org to inquire.
