Molly Epstein, Principal at Goodman Taft, the curatorial and advisory firm, is joined by Jeffrey Grove, Director of Museums and Publications at Sean Kelly Gallery, and Andria Hickey, Senior Director and Curator at Pace, for a conversation about their careers. These leaders in the contemporary art field will discuss navigating curatorial practice and collegial collaboration across various institutional and commercial platforms, examining the shifting landscape of exhibition-making today.
About Molly Epstein
Molly Epstein joined Goodman Taft, the curatorial and advisory firm, in 2016. Previously, she served as a Director at Gladstone Gallery—where she worked on major international exhibitions with gallery artists, including Jim Hodges, Anish Kapoor, and Shirin Neshat—and held positions at White Cube, London and Sperone Westwater, New York. Molly has produced projects and collaborated with several leading artists on significant public commissions, including Alexandre da Cunha, Nicole Eisenman, Teresita Fernández, and Raúl de Nieves. She is the co-editor of the Art for Rollins publication series and regularly participates as a speaker and panelist on various art world topics. Molly holds a B.A. in History of Art from Yale University and an M.A. in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
About Jeffrey Grove
Jeffrey Grove joined Sean Kelly Gallery in April 2017 as Director, Museums and Publications. In this capacity, his primary responsibilities entail cultivating relationships among artists, museums, and cultural institutions worldwide and directing the gallery’s robust publications program. An internationally recognized curator, educator, and scholar, Grove organized numerous, critically acknowledged U.S. and international museum exhibitions during his tenures at the Cleveland Museum of Art, The High Museum of Art, and the Dallas Museum of Art. He received his doctorate in Art History from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, an M.A. in Art History & Archaeology from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and his B.F.A. in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
About Andria Hickey
Andria Hickey is the Senior Director and Curator at Pace, previously serving as the Senior Curator at MOCA Cleveland and Curator at the Public Art Fund. Andria was the Curator at Art in General and from 2007–10, and the curatorial fellow in visual arts at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. While at the Walker, Hickey collaborated on exhibitions including The Quick and the Dead (2008), Haegue Yang: Integrity of the Insider (2009), and Yves Klein: With the Void, Full Powers (2010), among others. Before joining the Walker, Hickey was an independent curator and writer, working in non-profit artist-run centers in Montreal and Newfoundland. Hickey completed her MA in Art History at Concordia University in Montreal and her written work has been published in a wide variety of journals and exhibition catalogues.
