ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Julia Joern is a Partner at David Zwirner gallery, where she oversees a team responsible for branding, marketing, publications, photography, archives, public relations, social media, public outreach, and special events. With a background in architecture, Joern has had a range of professional experiences over the past twenty years, from art book publishing (Rizzoli, Phaidon Press) to design (Bruce Mau Design).

Jennifer Pastore is the Photo Director of WSJ Magazine. Previously, she worked as a Photo Director at Harper’s Bazaar and Teen Vogue magazines and was the Associate Photo Editor of T: The New York Times Style Magazine. Pastore also teaches in the BFA photography program at The School of Visual Arts.

Lesley A. Martin is the Publisher of the Aperture Foundation book program and of The PhotoBook Review, a newsprint journal dedicated to the evolving conversation surrounding the photobook. Her writing on photography has been published in Aperture, American Photo, FOAM, and Lay Flat, among other publications. In addition, she has edited over seventy-five books and curated several exhibitions of photography.

The Colleagues and Friends Breakfast series invites established women in the art world to have conversations about their current positions, career paths, and professional relationships. The program is generously hosted by artnet at their headquarters in the Woolworth Building.
