TICKETS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT.
The first exhibition of its kind in New York, Cherchez la femme brings together over fifty world-class works by international female Surrealists, both famed and obscure, introducing new audiences to these extraordinary artists and reclaiming their place in the history of Surrealism.
Leading the tour will be Edith Eustis, Associate Specialist, Impressionist & Modern Art, Andrea Zorrilla, Specialist, Latin American Art, and Laura McCarthy, Assistant Vice President, Private Sales. They will discuss the intersection of exhibitions and private sales and the importance of mounting an exhibition of women Surrealists, both for Sotheby's clients and for the art market at large.
The event will conclude with an informal reception at Seamstress (339 East 75th Street) hosted by POWarts steering committee members Rebecca Shaykin and Natasha Degen. Drink specials will be available.
